Now my academic interest is in such fields as follows:
1. Eliminate digital divide
I hope to find some characters of ICT implementation in the rural areas to maximize the effect with the limited fund in P.R.China and other developing countries. I think that these factors: subject & field, developing level, experience, etc. do effect the result of ICT implementation. Overmuch fund to a developing area maybe is not a catholicon. Some steps and optimizing fund distribution are needed. The solution can make good use of government fund and really help rural areas.
2. Cross-cultural comparison of ICT implementation
The different conception of teachers to ICT, need of society, learners' experience, cultural background, etc. make difference in western and eastern countries. In the context of global education, the Chinese students' ICT experience is helpful to let them be a international student using ICT as a tool.
3. Performance assessment in the online learning in P. R. China
In fact, the lack of this work makes stagger of educational technology implementation in China. This is a necessary work.
4. Practice in the web-based education in HE
There is a newest project I am attending to in my school. The plans includes: construct some pure or mixed web-based lessons in HE, track the improvement of performance in the learning and instruction. The aim of the plan is create a perfect VLE in the HE in China. This practice is almost fire-new though the theory study in the web-based education is fruitful in China. The project will last 3-5 years.
5. Effective Web-based Learning Tools Design in Orient Countries
With IE or Netscape Navigator, people usually can complete many behaviors such as browse news, search information and so on when they are in the web surfing. But it is not enough even for common users. Too much information in the web made the phenomenon of “getting lost in the cyberspace”. People spend much time in finding the file he has downloaded from web. If the primary assumption is that people need a learning tool, these tools like so simple and inefficacy. They can’t handle with information effectively and efficiently, for example, modify and manage information as they wish. General user will need a more general integrative learning tool. The design maybe need involve the newest research result of the fields of knowledge management, learning science and learning psychology, etc. The significance of the research will be bigger in the information developing area and in the field of higher education.
